Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple is the Lord Shiva temple located in Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand. This temple is located at a distance of about 3 km from Har ki Pauri in Haridwar. This temple is believed to be very ancient. In this temple, Shivling made by ordinary stone. This temple is surrounded by jungles in a mountainous area. The temple also has idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Mata Rani. Bilkeshwar Mahadev is enshrined in Linga form below Sheshnag in this temple. Among the locals, this ancient temple is very popular. It is said about this place that Goddess Parvati did penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. There is a tradition of offering belpatra leaves to Lord Shiva and consecrating the Shiva lingam with the water of the river Ganges.
Bilkeshwar is famous as "Gauri Kund" just 50 steps from the Mahadev Temple. It is believed that Mata Parvati used to bathe in this pool (kund) during her penance.
