Varanasi/Prayagraj, February 11, 2026: This year, the grand festival of Maha Shivratri is being celebrated on February 15. The festival, which commemorates the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, brings with it several auspicious conjunctions this time. From Kashi, the city of Mahadev, to the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, the echoes of 'Har Har Mahadev' can be heard everywhere.
According to the panchang, the Chaturdashi Tithi will begin at 5:04 PM on February 15, 2026, and will continue until 5:34 PM on February 16. Since the primary worship of Shivratri is performed during the 'Nishita Kaal' (midnight), the night of February 15 will be considered the most significant for rituals.
With the onset of the Phalguna month, the enthusiasm of Shiva devotees has reached its peak. Special arrangements for smooth 'Darshan' have been made for pilgrims at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Meanwhile, thousands of devotees are expected to reach the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain for the famous Bhasma Aarti.
