Pilgrims and travelers planning a spiritual journey to Kainchi Dham (Neem Karoli Baba Ashram) to attend the historic Annual Foundation Day Mela on June 15 must take immediate note of the mega traffic enforcement plan rolled out by the Nainital District Police.
To manage the massive influx of lakhs of devotees expected on June 14 and 15, 2026, the Uttarakhand administration has converted the entire corridor into a tightly regulated transit zone, completely suspending regular private commuting near the valley.
Strict Restriction at Bhowali: During the core festival window (June 14 & 15), no private cars, SUVs, or two-wheelers will be permitted to drive from Bhowali toward the Kainchi Dham temple.
Mandatory Holding Areas: All tourist vehicles originating from Haldwani or Kathgodam will be legally diverted and halted at designated multi-tier parking grounds in Bhimtal and Bhowali.
To ensure a smooth commute for devotees from the parking lots to the ashram gates, the government has organized a monumental transit operation:
A fleet of 210 specialized buses and 250 shuttle taxis (totaling 460 vehicles) will run continuously.
These authorized shuttles will pick up pilgrims directly from key hubs—including Haldwani, Kathgodam Railway Station, Bhimtal, and Bhowali parking bays—and drop them close to the temple premises.
Compounding the festival rush is the peak summer weekend crowd. Consequently, Nainital Police has enforced a rigorous ban on heavy commercial trucks on this route from 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Regular long-distance traffic moving toward Almora, Ranikhet, and Pithoragarh is being proactively rerouted via alternative mountain bypass lines.
