New Delhi, January 25, 2026: Tomorrow morning, as President Droupadi Murmu unfurls the Tricolor at Kartavya Path, India will witness a new chapter in its history. This year’s Republic Day parade is packed with several "first-time ever" events and milestones.
The centerpiece of this year's parade is the celebration of the 150th anniversary of our National Song, 'Vande Mataram', composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The Music: Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani has created a special rendition of 'Vande Mataram,' which will serve as the soul-stirring finale of the parade.
Cultural Performance: Over 1,500 artists from across the country will perform simultaneously, showcasing regional variations of 'Vande Mataram.'
According to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Army will move beyond traditional marching to demonstrate a 'Phased Battle Array.'
What it is: This formation will integrate tanks, infantry, and drone technology into a real-time 'Combat Formation.' It is designed to give spectators a front-row seat to how the Indian Army strikes in a modern-day battlefield.
Make in India: 90% of the weaponry on display will be indigenous, including the 'Prachand' Light Combat Helicopter and the 'Nag' Anti-Tank Guided Missile system.
International diplomacy will be a key highlight. António Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will attend as Chief Guests, symbolizing the growing strategic partnership between India and the European Union.
Women Empowerment: An 'all-women' marching contingent will be a major highlight, with female officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force leading the charge.
30 Tableaux: A total of 30 tableaux will roll down Kartavya Path. Uttar Pradesh’s tableau will focus on the 'Glorious Heritage of Bundelkhand,' while Odisha will showcase its 'Digital Transformation.'
Timing: The parade is scheduled to begin at 09:30 AM.
Tickets: If you haven't secured a physical ticket, check the 'Amantran Portal' for availability or watch the live broadcast on Doordarshan.
Security: Multi-tier security is in place across Delhi. Visitors are advised not to carry any electronic gadgets other than mobiles and wallets.
