Once upon a time, a demon named Tripur performed austerities. Due to the effect of this severe austerity of Tripura, all the roots, animals, animals and gods started getting scared. The gods then sent beautiful apsaras to dissolve the austerities of Tripura.

But she was not able to interrupt the harsh austerity of Trixipur. In the end, Brahma Ji himself appeared before him and asked him to ask for a bride.

Then Tripura asked Brahma Ji, saying, 'I do not die from the hands of the gods, nor from the hands of men.' As soon as the boon was received, Tripura became fearless and persecuted the people. When he did not mind even these things, he climbed Mount Kailash. As a result, a fierce battle ensued between Lord Shiva and Tripura.

After a long period of war, Lord Shiva killed him with the help of Brahma and Vishnu. From this day itself, Kshirsagar is considered an infinite significance of charity.

Karthik Purnima Method : 

On the day of Kartik Purnima, bathing of Ganges, deep donation, havan, yagna etc. have special significance. It is said that on this day, the fruit of charity gets double or even more. The day of Kartik Purnima is also important for Sikhism because Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh community was born on this day.
