Alona (Saltless) Fasting: The word 'Morakat' translates to consuming food without salt. Throughout these 5 days, young girls completely renounce salt from their diet, consuming only plain, sattvic meals once a day.
Sowing Jawara (Wheat Sprouts): On the very first day, girls fill small earthen pots or bowls with soil and sow wheat or barley seeds, which are lovingly called 'Jawara'.
5 Days of Devotion: Over the 5 days, the sprouting Jawara plants are nurtured, watered daily, and worshipped with sacred threads (Nagla), Kumkum, and Rudraksha beads while chanting prayers to Goddess Gauri.
Jawara Immersion: On the 5th day (Guru Purnima evening), after performing the final puja rituals, the green Jawara sprouts are respectfully immersed in a nearby river or water body.
