Ayodhya, January 8, 2026: In anticipation of the massive pilgrim influx for the upcoming Makar Sankranti festival, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, along with the district administration, has launched a state-of-the-art 'Digital Slot' darshan system. The trial run, which commenced today, aims to revolutionize the pilgrimage experience by minimizing wait times through advanced technology.
The new guidelines focus on a "Reservation-First" approach to manage the crowd of nearly 5 lakh daily visitors:
App-Based Reservations: Devotees can now pre-book their specific time window using the official mobile application.
40% Reduction in Waiting: Early feedback from the trial suggests that scheduled slots have successfully reduced the average queue time by nearly 40%.
QR Code Entry: Upon booking, pilgrims receive a QR-coded e-pass, ensuring a seamless and contact-less verification process at the main gates.
To facilitate the movement of elderly pilgrims and emergency services, a new 'Green Corridor' has been made operational around the temple complex. Furthermore, the authorities have accelerated the opening of the Sapt-mandap and other surrounding shrines within the Parkota, with full complex access expected by February.
With the auspicious dip on January 14-15 fast approaching, Ayodhya is bracing for record numbers. Security forces have been alerted to enforce 'Smart Crowd Management' across all major entry points, including Hanuman Garhi and the Ram Path. Devotees are encouraged to follow the official digital guidelines and carry warm clothing for the early morning winter chill.
