New Delhi, February 12, 2026: The Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalguna is known as 'Vijaya Ekadashi'. As the name suggests, this Ekadashi is believed to grant its devotees victory even in the most difficult circumstances. According to mythological beliefs, Lord Ram himself observed this fast on the ocean shore to achieve victory over Lanka.
Ekadashi Tithi Begins: From the night of February 12, 2026.
Ekadashi Fast Date: February 13, 2026 (Friday).
Parana (Time to break the fast): The morning of February 14, 2026.
Vijaya Ekadashi is described in the scriptures as being highly influential. This fast instills self-confidence within an individual and grants them mental and spiritual victory over enemies. For those who are facing repeated failures in life or are caught in legal disputes, this fast is considered particularly fruitful.
Bathing and Resolve (Sankalp): Wake up early in the morning and bathe in a holy river or at home by mixing Ganga water into your bathwater.
Kalash Installation: Create an altar, place seven types of grains (Saptadhanya) on it, and establish a Kalash made of gold, silver, copper, or clay.
Worship of Lord Vishnu: Place an idol of Lord Vishnu (Shri Hari) on the Kalash and worship Him with incense, lamps, flowers, and offerings (Naivedya).
Vrat Katha and Vigil: Observe the fast throughout the day, listen to the Ekadashi legend (Katha), and perform a night vigil while reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama.
