We have a tradition of performing Puja and lighting lamps every day in our homes. This is not only a religious ritual but also a means of purifying the environment and positive energy. When the wicks of the lamp burn out, people often throw them in the garbage. But according to the scriptures, it is not right to do so. Divinity and positive energy remain even in the burnt wicks.
Burnt wicks of lamps are not considered impure. They accumulate auspicious energy. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures that they should never be thrown away like waste.
Keep all the burnt wicks collected for 10 days. On the eleventh day, put these wicks in a big lamp. Put camphor and 4 cloves in that lamp and burn all the wicks together.
When these wicks burn, move the smoke of the lamp throughout the house and finally leave it on the roof of the house. It is believed that this action removes negative energy from the house and makes the environment pure and sacred.
The next day keep some ash of that lamp safe in a small box.
If the ash becomes too much, then mix it in the soil of the trees. It is also a symbol of respect for nature and recycling.
Throwing burnt wicks in the garbage is not only inappropriate from the religious point of view but it also destroys their positive energy. With this simple solution mentioned in the scriptures, you can maintain peace, happiness, prosperity and positivity in the house.
