Purnima has special significance in Hinduism. The calendar in Hinduism and in the date of Hindu Panchag varies according to the moon. What is a full moon? It is the night when the moon is fully visible. The full moon night comes after every 30 days, it can be said that the full moon comes once a month. The decreasing and increasing side of the moon is called two types: Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha.
