Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple is the most sought after devout centers in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This is the birth place of Lord Krishna. The importance of this place is not only limited to national level but also at global level is the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura district. It is the driving force minded PanditMadan Mohan Malviyajithe Temple is set up as a grand attraction. Devotees from abroad came here to see Lord Krishna daily.

There is a prison cell belonging to his mama (maternal Uncle) King Kansa where Bhagwan Krishna was born.Now it is famous as KatraKeshavdev. The prison is culminated in the Keshavdev temple. It is believed that the temple was built by grandson of Krishna, Brijnaabh in the place of prison. Mathura city also surrounds here. The chronology of several high-rise magnificent temples was built here. Some of these have been destroyed over time and some were destroyed by some heretics.

First Temple

Preceding the year of 80-57 MahakshtrpSudas is known from inscriptions of the time that a person named Vasu Krishna at the birthplace of Lord Krishna built the entrance and altar archway. This manuscript is written in Bramhi script.

Second Temple

Second Temple nearlyin the year 800 AD during the reign of Vikramadityawerebuilt. In terms of culture and art, the Mathura city was largely flourishing. Hinduism with Buddhism and Jainism were on the rise. Near the birthplace of Lord Krishna, monastery and templesof Jains and Buddhists were made. Third Temple

It is known from the Sanskrit inscriptions, when Maharaja VijaypalDev was the ruler of Mathura, a person namedJajj in 1150 AD, builta new temple on the birthplace of Krishna. It is said to be huge and majestic. The temple was also destroyed in the early 16th century during the reign of Sikandar Lodi.

Fourth Temple

During the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, a huge temple named Punru built on the birthplace of Krishna. King Veersingh Ju Dev Bundela of Orchha ruler went to set the temple height to 250 feet. It is said to be seen from Agra. At that time the building costs 33 lakh. A high wall around the wall of the temple was built, the remains of which still exist. A well was built in the southwest corner of the temple, taking the water 60 feet high and it was served for fountains. This well is still located here. In 1669 AD the temple was destroyed again and from the buildingremains a Idagah(a place of assembly for offering id-prayers) were made and still exists today.
