This mantra is the Maha Mantra of Lord Vishnu. This mantra is made of three greatest names of Vishnu in the Sanskrit language, — Hare, Krishna and Rama. There are many interpretations of this mantra, all of which can be considered as correct. In this mantra, 'Hare' can be explained in the main form of Shri Hari. Hari is the name of Lord Vishnu, which means 'He who dispels the illusion'. Another interpretation which is in the prime form of the name is 'Radha's name' which is considered as the inner potency of Lord Krishna, it refers to 'the energy/ power of God's supreme personality'. While 'Krishna' and 'Ram' refer to Lord Supreme God, which means' He who attracts all '' and 'He who is the source of happiness for all the beings'.

In the Kalyug our soul can only be saved by the chanting of Hari’s name, besides there is no other way of salvation in Kaliyug! There is no other! There is no other!
Shrimad Bhagavat states (12.3.51) ? although Kaliyug is a concentration of evils, however, there is a very great virtue in it that what can be attained in Satyuga by Lord's meditation (asceticism) by the Yajna-rituals, in Tretayuga by prayer and worship, in Dwaparyuga that can be attained in Kaliyuga only by the chanting the name of Shri Hari.
At the end of the Dwapar era, when Devrishi Narad asked Brahmaji the remedy to get rid of the effect of Kali in Kaliyuga, the Creator said that the person can destroy the defects of Kali Yuga by chanting the name of Lord Narayana. When Naradaji asked the name of the mantra, Brahmaji who is the womb of creation said: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna.
