Mata Murti Temple is a Hindu temple located in Bardinath town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Here is the famous temple of Lord Vishnu, Badrinath which is one of the Char Dhams of India. Mata Murti Temple is located at a distance of 4 kms from Badrinath bus. Mata Murti Temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Mata Murti Temple is an ancient temple. It is one of the most important temples in Hinduism and is dedicated to the Hindu deity, Mata Murti. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3133 meters and is believed to be one of the holiest sites in the Hindu faith.

The Mata Murti Temple is dedicated to the two sons of Mata Murti, namely Nara and Narayana.

According to legend, Mata Murti prayed to Lord Vishnu to take birth from her womb. Accepting her wish, Lord Vishnu took birth as the twins Nara and Narayana for the purpose of killing a demon.

According to popular belief, the goddess has the power to bestow dispassion on those who meditate here sincerely. On the day of Shukla Tritiya, Ashtami and Chaturdashi, there is an influx of tourists to worship the idol of the mother. Mata Murti is the mother of Shri Badrinath worshiped with great devotion during the fair.
