Padmanabha Dwadashi Vrat is observed on the Dwadashi of Ashwin Shukla. This fast is done on the next day of Papankushi Ekadashi. Lord Padmanabha is worshiped in this. Padmanath is a form of Lord Vishnu. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On this day, to attain the awakened state, the Lord takes an angadai and Padmaseen Brahma makes the sound of 'Omkar'.
It is believed that the devotees who observe Padmanabha Dwadashi Vrat attain prosperity and attain salvation throughout their life. The mention of this fast is found in Varaha Purana.
After bathing the idol of Lord Vishnu with Ksheer, offer bhog and perform aarti with incense, lamp, naivedya, sandalwood and donate food to Brahmins. Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra should be recited on this day. The effect of this fast gives desired results.
