Neelkanth Mahadev or Neelkantheshwar Mahadev Temple is a Hindu temple located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. This temple is completely dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is said that the Shiva Linga installed in the Neelkantheshwar temple was brought from the Kanjar Mountain. It is believed that the devotees who worship this Shivling are considered equal to the Shivling of the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple located in Uttarakhand. The Shivalinga in this temple is about 25 feet under the ground where one can go by stairs.
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple CK-33/23 is located in Neelkanth Mohalla. This place is also named after this temple. This temple is also mentioned in chapter 69 of Kashi Khand. In this chapter, the Shivalingas established in Kashi are described. Who were founded by Nandi. This chapter is very important. This linga is worshiped with all religious fervor.
