Shukratal holds a special significance in Hinduism. Shukratal is a pilgrimage site for the followers of Hinduism. Shukratal pilgrimage site is related to Mahabharata period. Therefore this place is considered a famous pilgrimage site of Hindus. Shukratal is located near Muzaffarnagar in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Shukratal is at a distance of about 152 kilometers from Delhi, the capital of India. Shukratal is situated on the banks of river Ganges.

Lord Shri Krishna is worshiped in the Shukratal temple and Lord Shri Krishna is the main deity of this place.

It is said that King Parikshit, son of Abhimanyu and grandson of Pandava son Arjuna, who was cursed that he would be bitten by the snake Takshak within a week, had heard the Bhagavat Katha from the shrimukh of Maharishi Shukdev.

At this place a temple was built under the Vat tree. Shukdev ji used to narrate the Bhagwat story while sitting under this tree. This banyan tree is still present here. It is believed that autumn never comes on this tree. There is also a yagyashala inside the temple. King Parikshit used to narrate the story of Bhagwat from Maharishi ji.

There is Akshavat tree situated in Shukratal and under this tree about 5000 years ago, 88000 sages and sages and Sukhdev Ji Maharaj himself narrated the story of Shrimad Bhagwat to get rid of the curse of King Parikshit.

From time to time special programs of the story of Bhagavad Gita are organized in Shukratal. In which thousands of devotees participate.

There is a temple of Lord Shiva in which a 108 feet high statue of Lord Shiva is installed.

Durga Dham

There is a temple of Mata Durga in which 80 feet high statue of Lord Durga is installed.
