This verse is from Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7, Verse 12. It is written in Sanskrit and translated into Hindi as:
ye chaiva sāttvikā bhāvā rājasās tāmasāśh cha ye
matta eveti tān viddhi na tvahaṁ teṣhu te mayi||12||
"O Arjun! Sattvik, Rajasik and Tamasik – all these Bhaavs, know that they all have been generated by me. But those Bhaavs are not in me, rather they are all dependent on me."
Lord Krishna here gently reminds us that every tendency in the world—whether it is bright (Sattvik peace), passionate (Rajasik enthusiasm), or heavy and depressive (Tamasik inertia)—is the root of all of them.
Yet Krishna explains very lovingly—
“These feelings are born of me, but I am not limited to them. Just as waves rise from the ocean but the ocean is not limited to the waves, similarly I am beyond these qualities, holding everyone in my lap.”
